Chopper Spirals Out of Control into Palm Groves at Well-Known California Coast
A helicopter soaring near a crowded California shoreline unexpectedly started spinning uncontrollably, eventually dropping height and plunging into a line of palm fronds as onlookers observed.
Recordings posted on social media capture the helicopter beginning to twirl near Huntington Beach then plunging in the direction of the edge of the beach, where it gets stuck between palm groves and a steps adjacent to the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Update
Emergency responders stated five persons were transported to a medical facility involving two individuals who were in the aircraft and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” following the crash on the weekend.
Three individuals on the road were hurt. Specifics on their wounds were not yet released.
