Iranian Forces State Attack on American Facility in Bahrain, As Part of Regional Counterattacks.

Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a large-scale and continuing offensive against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone close to the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any damage is not yet known and the United States has not commented.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house US military bases - reported they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their air space.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on Iran launched by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted areas linked to the the regime, with US President Donald Trump urging the Iranian people to revolt against the leadership.

Additional Developments

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military said it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems responded to the missiles with notable success and destroyed a number of missiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported missile fragments fell on a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and killing a civilian.

The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
