The Apple Watch Series 11 Review: Superb Wrist Gestures featuring Extended Battery Performance

Our newest Apple Watch Series Eleven introduces the improvement the majority actually want from a smartwatch: improved power endurance.

Apart from that, this latest version functions as a straightforward upgrade for the Series 10, matching it in design, size measurements and functions, with most of improvements derived from watchOS.

The latest version is also £30 cheaper for UK customers, costing from £369 sterling (449 euros/399 dollars/679 Australian dollars), placed higher than the newly revamped Watch SE at £219 in the budget category alongside the £749 Ultra 3 at the high end.

Build and Interface

Like last year's Series Ten, this updated version comes in at 9.7mm thick, resulting in a trim appearance when worn, simple to slide under cuffs and easier to wear during sleep.

Featuring a 2,000nit OLED screen is plenty bright for viewing in various lighting, staying legible at various perspectives, making quickly looking for timekeeping or notifications simple.

Protecting the display with glass that is twice as scratch resistant compared to previous models, though not quite as tough of sapphire crystal, which is reserved with the higher-end titanium versions.

Performance and Battery

The new watch features equivalent S10 silicon as last year's model but now supports cellular 5G capability and stronger reception when you're exploring remote areas.

Energy storage demonstrate growth in capacity approximately 10 percent with the smaller and larger versions in that order.

The 46mm managed an impressive two full days in testing including sleep monitoring when not used for fitness.

The majority of users can nearly monitor two full days with overnight use until recharge becomes necessary, requiring about 66 minutes using a 20W or higher charger (not included), reaching approximately 70% in 30 minutes.

Should you participate in workouts, the device can continue about eight hours for monitoring, sufficient duration for a marathon or two.

Software Enhancements

The latest device comes preloaded with the latest watchOS, functioning on each iteration starting from Series 6 and subsequent.

Featuring the latest Liquid Glass design, resulting in interface components partially transparent, along with two new watch faces: an expansive digital display called Flow reacting to motion and traditional watch face named Exactograph, dividing hours, minutes and seconds into their own dials.

The most impressive innovation centers on gesture control, where you rapidly twist your wrist away from you then returning to exit screens and return to the watch face.

The feature operates without raising your wrist to check the display, allowing users to turn off alerts through simple motion of the wrist.

Health and Fitness Tracking

This smartwatch includes an extensive health monitoring suite of features from previous models plus including several fresh capabilities and a redesigned workout app.

Hypertension alerts monitor indicators of elevated BP over a 30-day period, notifying you to consult professionals if cardiac metrics suggests you may have undetected issues.

Enhanced sleep analysis improves sleep monitoring easier to interpret, similar to competitors from Google, Samsung and others.

Each morning the screen presents a score out of 100 separated into components into three categories: time asleep, schedule and wakeups, each easy to understand and viewable in the Health app on your smartphone as well.

Fitness assistant serves as automated guidance that uses your historical exercise information to provide motivational messages before and after workouts, like detecting that you have already run regular activity patterns and the level of effort you demonstrated.

Also featuring audible heads-up when you reach particular goals throughout activities, including certain tempo, cardiac rhythm, distance, period or additional measurements.

There is a choice among three vocal styles, providing audio feedback via wireless earbuds synced to the wearable for one of 12 activities, including walking, running or cycling.

Unfortunately, functionality requires if you have with you newer iPhone models during activities, which I found irritating prompting abandonment of the function to avoid being encumbered bringing phones during exercise.
